The Ducati Panigale is without a doubt one of the most beautiful hyper-bikes ever built. Most motorcycles of this ilk are usually built with a specific purpose and end up looking like a missile with a saddle. The Italian flair, intense focus on design and styling are values that Ducati holds key in their motorcycles, and this aspect shines through in every motorcycle that leaves their showrooms.

The Ducati Panigale being presented with the prestigious Compasso d’Oro design award resonates perfectly with their commitment to design. On May 29, 2014, the Panigale became the first ever motorcycle to receive this award. The Compasso d’Oro is the world’s longest established and most influential design award.

“This historical and prestigious award is extremely important for Ducati,” said Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. “It is further recognition of our role as ambassadors of Italian design, a ‘title’ we greatly value.”

The Panigale features a 1199cc Superquadro L-Twin liquid-cooled engine with four desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, putting out an astronomical 195bhp.
