KTM has firmly established their performance biking credentials in India with their 200 and 390 Duke siblings. The KTM brand has a dedicated fan following, with both bikes attaining cult status within a short period of time. The company will be pushing the envelope further by becoming the first motorcycle brand in India to offer dedicated performance remaps for their motorcycles.

Sources in the service chain confirmed to ThrillOfDriving.com that ECU remaps will be available for the Dukes, though pricing and time of availability are yet to be confirmed. Autocar India is reporting that the maps will be available in two states of tune: a city-based map that will probably eliminate the low speed jerkiness that plagues the Dukes and a performance map, which will perhaps address the abrupt rev limit that halts the fun at 10,500rpm on the 390. The best part about these maps is that they will not void the bike’s warranty and since the stock ECU is reprogrammed, there’s no hassle of piggyback units and wiring.

ThrillOfDriving.com has tested the Race Dynamics ECU on our fleet KTM 390s and we can safely say that some potential remains to be unleashed from the larger Duke’s engine.
