Universal Studios have announced the completion of filming the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. The latest addition to the famous series of action films which is centred around illegal street racing and heists will release on April 3, 2015. Universal’s official Facebook page thanked all their fans and supporters for the completion of the filming and stated, “Today we completed the last shot in the production of FAST & FURIOUS 7.”

The film was originally set to release on July 11, 2014. However, Universal Pictures halted production following the death of Paul Walker, a lead in the franchise. Paul Walker was 40-years old when his Porsche Carrera GT crashed into a tree and burst into flames in California, on November 30, 2013. He was sitting beside Roger Rodas, business partner and a co-owner of the car-customization store ‘Always Evolving’. The sudden demise of one of the leading actors led toa murky future for the series. Universal Studios reworked the script later and the latest installment acquired the help and services of Paul Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody along with CGI to finish the scenes.

The post on Facebook also thanked Vin Diesel, lead actor and co-producer of the movie by saying, “Our FAST family has been together for almost fifteen years now and has grown a lot in that time. From the start, Vin has been our leader who feels what’s right for FAST in his gut and in his heart. When we had to stop production last year, Vin gathered us back together and moved us forward when we needed it most. He led us to this day.”

Meanwhile, the lead female actress of the movie, Michelle Rodriguez paid tribute to Paul Walker posting a picture of her and Vin Diesel saying, “Ride or Die through thick and thin 15 yrs later surreal to think we made it through such a tough painful production. But this ones for you P I hope we make you proud love you.”
