Realising that customers want a car to be an extension of their own personalities, Ford is the first auto manufacturer to launch a Vehicle Personalisation Centre in India. Located near Ford India’s Chennai factory, the Vehicle Personalisation Centre has an area of over 35,000 square feet, and was inaugurated by John Cooper, Vice President Customer Service Division at Ford Asia Pacific, and Nigel Harris, President, Ford India. While Ford has mentioned that the centre will enable new EcoSport buyers to customise their SUV at anyone of the 19 ergonomically designed modification bays, the American manufacturer hasn’t said anything about its other models.

At the moment, Ford will offer just three options in terms of customisation: a spare wheel cover for the EcoSport; new alloys and a rear spoiler for the lower-spec trims; and a new rear spoiler LED scuff plate, roof cross-bar for the top-spec Titanium trim.

The extra options packages can be ordered at the dealership while booking an EcoSport, though there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding older EcoSport models being brought in for the same treatment. By the end of the year, Ford has plans to expand the personalisation centre’s offerings.
