Hero Electric, a subsidiary of Hero MotoCorp, has launched its flagship product, the AVIOR e-cycle in India. Available in two variants, the AVIOR AMX Rs 19,290 and AVIOR AFX Rs 18,990 (on- road Delhi), the electric bike can be bought in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore.

Using German technology in their battery tech has led Hero Electric to the creation of the battery brand A2B. This is the battery that has been used in the AVIOR and comes mated to a six-speed Shimano gear system, enabling a top speed of 25kmph. The battery pack takes a maximum of 9–10 hours to charge to a 100 per cent. To keep weight down, the cycle also gets alloy wheels.

The e-bike is targeted at urban consumers, largely working corporates, young professionals and the youth. The AVIOR is expected to create awareness in metro cities concerning public transportation as it is meant as an alternate mode of transportation for commuting quick distances.

Commenting on the occasion, Naveen Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Eco Group says, “We are extremely thrilled to introduce Hero Eco’s world leading German technology in India through our new product AVIOR. We are committed to our vision to provide green mobility to the country and look forward to consistent innovation towards developing remarkable products for the Indian EV market.”

“With the growing concern over the traffic grid lock in our country, we are aware of the impelling issues faced by the public. In the absence of favorable weather and roads, cycling is often seen as a tedious and strenuous activity by the general masses across India. Whilst cycling is also being adopted as fitness experience, we with this new flagship product hope to take cycling experience to the next level with the added comfort of AVIOR e-cycles,” added Sohinder Gill, CEO Global Business, Hero Electric India.
