DSK Hyosung had an interesting line-up of products too. The first was the launch of the Aquila 250. Priced at Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, it carries over traditional styling cues of retro cruisers in a package that could easily be mistaken for a much larger motorcycle. On the flip side, the styling is getting a bit long in the tooth now, since it still looks like the Aquila 250 that was sold years back. We would have expected DSK Motowheels to spruce up the styling but sadly the only prominent visual differentiator is the end can which is similar to its elder sibling, the Aquila Pro. In fact borrowing the styling wouldn’t have been a bad idea either.

The naked GD 250 N was a breath of fresh air in contrast. Contemporary and funky styling coupled with a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine should ensure healthy sales if priced right. Its edgy styling consists of minimal body panels (what seems like the norm these days for modern nakeds) but the offset rear shock absorber, underbody exhaust can, petal disc brakes and beautiful alloy design made it quite a looker. The bike is expected to be launched later this year.

The RT 125 D was the quirkiest of all the Hyosungs on display. Primarily a dirt bike, the RT is reminiscent of old school home grown dirt bikes. A fat knobby tyre dominates the rear while the front is much slimmer. Add a hammered smallish fuel tank and we’re back in the seventies. We’d have preferred to have left the RT back there in time, but DSK Hyosung is expected to launch this bike too.
