Situated at B-10, Info City, Sector 34, the manufacturer’s first showroom in the country has the capacity to display nine motorcycles. The design of the dealership is inspired by the original home of the manufacturer in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Gurgaon dealership will sell the entire range of the American brand- the Indian Chief Classic, Indian Chief Vintage and the Indian Chieftain. In addition, the dealership has ample space for brand merchandise ranging from caps to jackets to riding accessories for customers. The iconic manufacturer is planning to open Bangalore and Mumbai dealerships before the end of 2014 while a total of five dealerships have been planned by 2016.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Dubey said, “The very first showroom to display and retail the legendary Indian Motorcycle holds great importance for us. It is the first interface where we are giving an opportunity to biking enthusiasts to own a slice of history with a contemporary twist. The start of the Indian Motorcycle’s dealer network in India reinforces the company’s serious commitment towards growing its footprint in the country and reaching out to Indian Motorcycle fans.”
The 113-year-old iconic American motorcycle manufacturer’s fortunes changed when Polaris Industries acquired them in April 2011. The company unveiled the all-new range of Indian motorcycles in the U.S.A. in August 2013 and entered the Indian market in January 2014. Indian Motorcycle have been priced the Indian Chief Classic, Indian Chief Vintage and the Indian Chieftain for Rs 26.50lakh, 29.50lakh and Rs 33lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
