Last year, Jaguar revealed its F-Type drop-top worldwide and everyone drooled. Jaguar had more in store and they will soon introduce an even more appealing F-Type to the Indian market — the gorgeous Coupe version of their famous F-Type was showcased at the Auto Expo. The Tata-owned brand has brought the C-X16 concept to reality, by retaining most of the design elements of the C-X16; the long bonnet, low roofline and tapering cabin. In fact it is in the rear end of the Coupe that the clearest visual link to the E-Type is evident.

The new F-Type Coupe line-up is headlined by the F-Type R Coupe, which houses the same 5.0-litre supercharged V8 motor from the roadster but with more punch — about 55bhp more — putting down 550bhp. While the Coupe R will sit
at the top of the range the rest of the Coupe range will be cheaper than the Roadsters. The expected price for the V6 S is Rs 1.28 crore while the V8 R should be Rs 1.70 crore. In terms of dynamics, it’s believed that Tata’s brand Ambassador and India’s only Formula One driver was involved in fine tuning the car’s suspension at the famous British racetrack, Silverstone. Here’s a video link to Narain Karthikeyen going sideways in the F-Type and the Range Rover Sport while explaining why exactly is the F-Type so great. http://youtu.be/grdvCv2msNU
