The burgeoning premium car market in India seems to be offering more options in the levels of luxury that consumers can choose from. Jaguar India, to prove the point, has expanded their XF range with the Executive Edition, priced at 45.12 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai, Pre Octroi.

Powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine found in the Luxury variant, the engine develops 188bhp at 3500rpm and 450Nm of torque at 2000rpm, mated to eight-speed automatic transmission. The car reaches 100kmph from a standstill in 8.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 225kmph. The car features a navigation system and touchscreen, a full-size spare wheel, and the Jaguar Smart Key system with keyless start. Apart from this, the car gets interior mood lighting, electronic front seats and power-fold exterior mirrors.

Commenting on the launch, Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover India, said, “We are excited to introduce Jaguar XF 2.2L Diesel Executive Edition, at an attractive price point. It will enable us to access a wider audience which consists of discerning and premium Indian customers who have always loved the brand, aspired to own this sedan and be seen in it.”

Nearly four lakh cheaper than the Luxury variant, the Executive Edition misses out on some features such as the reverse camera and sunroof. The leather seats will give way to fabric seats in the new variant. The launch of the Executive Edition means that it will be the new entry-level Jaguar in its range of cars in India (in terms of price). In January, the company had launched a petrol variant of the Jaguar XF in the country, priced at Rs 48.3 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
