While plenty of manufacturer’s have announced increased prices just recently, Kawasaki has gone the other way by announcing a price cut of more than Rs 50,000 on its middle weight naked, the Z800. Initially launched at Rs 7.9 lakh in the market, the Triumph Speed Triple and Benelli TNT 899 rival wil now cost Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

Kawasaki claims that the price cut is essentially because of the reduced manufacturing costs at the Thailand facility. The others in the Kawasaki India stable are manufactured in Japan, and will not be affected either way. With the reduction in its price tag, the Kawasaki Z800 is now Rs 30,000 cheaper than Triumph Speed Triple at Rs 7.65 lakhs, it’s direct rival on road. Now boasting a 34bhp, 30Nm, and Rs 30,000 advantage, over the Speed Triple, Kawasaki aims selling more units of the Z800. The price cut should also help the 800cc naked stay competitive in terms of pricing when Benelli launches the TNT 899. The price cut will be in action till March 2015 as claimed by the company.
