Mahindra strengthens its U.S.A. presence

A month ago, ThrillOfDriving.com had reported that Mahindra was ready to launch its GenZe electric scooter in the United States. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group along with Michigan Governor, Rick Snyder inaugurated the Mahindra GenZe electric two-wheeler facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the North American Technical Centre in Southeast Michigan. The proud Chairman of the Mahindra Group commented on the occasion, “Michigan provided us with the perfect eco-system to step up our U.S. presence.”

The new facility is capable of assembling 9000 units of the GenZe per year though it can be upgraded to churn out 20,000 units per annum. To read more about Mahindra’s GenZe electric scooter click the link.

The Mahindra North American Centre of Excellence (MNATC) is meant for research and development to enable Mahindra to create globally competitive product designs and technologies in support of its future product portfolio. The MNATC, based in Troy, Michigan, is staffed with 40 engineers but will soon employ over 120 people.
