Mating the nose of the Audi A7 to the rear of BMW’s 6 Series concept, the Ciaz concept is set to take Maruti upmarket. Carrying a few design cues over from the SX4, the low-slung concept comes across as sporty and appealing. The headlamps are a tasteful blend of LEDs, projectors and fibre optic lighting elements. The LED fog lamps are moulded in the form of bumper slats and look unique. Classy bits abound with subtle chrome and carbon fibre elements like bumper surrounds, sculpted mirror stalks and a chrome strip running down the sides.

The designers have kept the sides sporty with a sharp shoulder line and chrome inserts along the windows. The all-black wheels with chrome touches complement this look. The tail lamps look inspired by BMW when lit up. The fusion of chrome and carbon fibre continues at the rear with the sharp and edgy twin tailpipe surrounds.
The production version will carry over engines from Maruti Suzuki’s existing line-up, though it is possible that the 1.6 Multijet diesel that will debut on the S-Cross will make its way here. Transmission choices will include an automatic, maybe a CVT. When launched, it will carry the title of being Maruti-Suzuki’s flagship model. Expected on our shores soon.
