Maruti-Suzuki DZire diesel gets auto gear shift

Having been a first mover in offering affordable automated transmissions in their cars, Maruti moves ahead by adding Auto Gear Shift (AGS, their take on the automated manual transmission) to the DZire diesel. This makes the DZire a unique proposition in its space — a diesel automatic sedan at a competitive price.

The DZire diesel with AGS will return a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.59 Km/l which is the same as the manual transmission variant. Apart from the DZire, Maruti Suzuki offers AGS in the Celerio, Alto K10 and WagonR. The DZire diesel with AGS will be priced at Rs. 8.39 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
