Maruti to recall first-generation Swift, Dzire and Ritz models

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that it will be recalling the diesel variants of Swift, Swift Dzire and Ritz models manufactured between 8th March 2010 and 11th August 2013 for a potential wiring harness fitment issue. This recall will affect 69,555 diesel vehicles (55,938 units of Dzire, 12,486 units of Swift and 1,131 units of Ritz) Maruti Suzuki dealers will proactively contact owners of all the affected vehicles to inspect the wiring harness fitment condition and carry out the necessary repairs, free of cost.

Owners of the first-generation Dzire, Swift and Ritz can log on to www.marutisuzuki.com to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above mentioned vehicles. The customer is required to fill in the chassis number (MA3 or MBH followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) to check if their vehicle is affected by the recall or may contact their nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop. While exact details of the problem were undisclosed, this potential problem was noticed based on feedback monitoring and internal checks by the Company and Maruti Suzuki is doing well by being proactive to address the issue
