Honda’s Mobilio MPV is all set to be launched on July 23 and will lock horns with its rivals, the Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Nissan’s Evalia. However, the expected top-spec variant, the AVN trim, will not be available in the Indian market till much later. TOD can reveal that the V trim will become the top-of-the-line variant till the AVN comes to India as it will probably arrive after a minor facelift.

On the inside, the V trim misses out on navigation and the touchscreen that comes standard on the AVN trim, but will share the audio system with its hatchback and sedan siblings, the Brio and Amaze. Other features which the V trim is deprived of like leather seats, illuminated door sills and wood garnish on the dash, are expected to be offered as customisation accessories, for an extra bit of cash.

The Japanese manufacturer has yet to announce a definite date for the launch of the AVN trim. The Honda Mobilio shares engines with the City, as such, it gets the 117bhp 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor and the 99bhp 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, both mated to a five-speed manual.
