Volkswagen has officially taken the wraps off the facelifted Polo which sports redesigned tail-lamps and new headlights housing LED DRLs for the top-specced variants. The front and rear bumpers get subtle changes and so does the dashboard and steering wheel. The chrome strip and the shapely chin do give the car a sterner yet sporty look. The overall styling has given this slightly aging but still spry design a more mature look. The interior will be equipped with a 5 or 6.5-inch display along with a rearview camera, a new set of AC controls and a steering wheel nthat looks like it was lifted straight of the VW Golf.

Internationally, this Polo will be powered by a 1.4-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine which has three states of tune — 74bhp, 89bhp and 103bhp; along with the existing engines. A 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine developing 50bhp and 74bhp will also debut with new Polo while the 1.2-litre TSI engine will be available with 89bhp and 109bhp. The engines will be mated to 5-speed, 6-speed manual or the DSG gearbox. Depending on the trim customers can select alloys ranging from 15- to 17-inches and 15 exterior shades are also on offer. This facelift will probably make it to our shores by the monsoon season.
