Aiming to provide better and more efficient after sales experience, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) inaugurated a Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Chennai. Located at the Indospace SKCL Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, the new parts distribution centre is expected to supply spare parts to Nissan dealerships across the country at a faster pace which will result in a quicker service delivery experience for customers.

The new facility has been built over a 45,000 square metre area and has a dispatch volume capacity of 2800 lines per day compared to the previous facility’s 700 lines. The facility also hosts separate office and canteen blocks, and will employ 300 people. The PDC will be directly managed by Nissan Motor India Private Ltd with the support of Indospace, Yusen Logistics as well as Nippon Express. Nissan is also on an expansion phase for the hassle-free availability of spare parts for customers and will setup additional parts distribution centres in different locations in India during the coming months.

“Customer satisfaction is one of our key focus areas this fiscal year. Our new after-sales Parts Distribution Centre reaffirms our commitment to our customers in India. Efficient supply of spare parts across our existing service network is imperative to complement our plan to increase our sales touchpoints.” Said Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations.

After launching the Micra, Sunny, Evalia and the Terrano in India, Nissan selected India to relaunch the budget brand, Datsun, globally last year. The new PDC will help Nissan meet customer demand for spares. The company registered sales of 38,217 units in last financial year and more vehicles and facelifts are expected in Nissan’s and Datsun’s line-up in the coming years.
