Porsche’s next-gen Boxster and Cayman featuring turbocharged ‘Boxer’ four-pot engines, were spied doing the rounds at the famous Nurburgring. Critics who thought that the flat-four engines would sound pedestrian, uninspiring and muted will have to eat their words.

We can identify that the Boxster in the video sports one of the newly developed four-cylinder engines. Though it doesn’t sound like the six-pot Porsche’s, it does sounds quite deep with a definite burble. The sound of the turbo isn’t as rambunctious and enthusiasts may want to hear the definitive turbo whistle as the waste-gate opens. To say we like the sound is a bit of an understatement.
