Nissan’s budget brand, Datsun, has begun the pre-booking of its GO+ MPV, while offering a fully refundable deposit of Rs 11,000, and a special ‘Welcome Pack’ of goodies to the first few customers. First showcased by the Japanese manufacturer at the 2014 Auto Expo, the 7-seater, sub-4-metre MPV will be available for pre-booking between January 3 and 14, 2015.

Guillaume Sicard, President — Nissan India Operations, said at the occasion, “We are happy to offer our latest product Datsun GO+, a segment-creating Compact MPV to customers in India. The Datsun GO+ is our second product in the market after the Datsun GO and reiterates our commitment to India. The Datsun brand stands for affordable mobility and the Datsun GO+ is a product for those families who prefer a bigger vehicle for both in-city and long distance travel for work as well as leisure. We opened pre-bookings today for customers who would like to be the early ones to own the new Datsun.”

There are some concerns in the industry as to whether the GO+, especially due to the additional weight at the rear, will undure the same amount of scrutiny about its safety. The prices for Datsun’s niche MPV will be announced on January 15. For more information on the car, read our quick drive report.
