Rolls-Royce unveiled the 2015 Ghost Series II, with an array of subtle updates, at the 84th Geneva Motor Show which was held earlier this year. A few nips and tucks for the four-year-old in their stable gave a much needed breath of fresh air to the Ghost. Rolls-Royce has launched the updated Ghost in India with prices starting at Rs 4.5 crore, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new Ghost Series II will also be sold in the extended wheelbase version as well.

The Ghost Series II is essentially the same vehicle as the outgoing model, though benefits from a host of minor updates akin to the treatment seen on the Phantom Series II, released in 2012. They include a redesigned frontal facia, with daytime running lights surrounding the LED headlights. The front air intakes now have chrome inserts, and the front bumper has been slightly reshaped. The Ghost Series II will be available shod with new optional 21-inch forged wheels, or the standard 19-inch wheels.

The interior has been spruced up with re-designed seats. The seats are available with three-level heating as standard with an optional massage function. The instrument dials and clocks have also undergone subtle enhancements with polished metal touches around the dials. Two new crafted veneers are also on offer. The new car gets an enhanced infotainment system and boasts of an array of connectivity options that include on-board Wi-Fi facilitates email, file sharing, telephony, and video-conferencing. Information from the updated Multimedia Interface and navigation system is displayed on a new 10.25-inch HD screen.

The mechanical department is largely unchanged with the same 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 engine developing 563bhp and 750Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed ZF gearbox. The new car uses Satellite Aided Transmission, a technology that made its debut on the Wraith in 2013. The tech utilizes GPS data to select the most appropriate gear based on location and driving style. The car speeds to 100kmph from a standstill in 5.0 seconds, before reaching a limited top speed of 250kmph.
