To celebrate the Chevrolet brand name now appearing on Manchester United’s home jersey, General Motors India launched special editions of its hatchbacks, the Chevrolet Beat and the SAIL. The Manchester United editions will be sold in limited quantities and will cost only Rs 69,000 more than the standard models. The special edition will only be available with the mid-trim LS variant with both petrol and diesel engine options.

The livery for the Manchester United Edition Beat and SAIL hatchbacks were designed at the General Motors Technical Centre India (GMTC-I) in Bangalore. Besides the splashes of red paint, the exclusive models sport Manchester United decals, new alloy wheels, special seat covers, a new music system, ORVM’s with integrated indicators, roof rails and badging. There aren’t any changes to the powertrain and the cars come with the same petrol and diesel engine options mated to a five-speed manual.

SAIL Hatchback Manchester United Edition

The Chevrolet Beat and SAIL hatchback Manchester United editions are on a multi-city tour which will conclude today. GM has organised a contest giving a chance for two winners (along with a friend each) to watch the legendary team’s first match in North America in August 2014. The winners of the contest will be announced on July 10, 2014.

Available in limited quantity, the models celebrate Chevrolet’s Shirt Sponsorship with Manchester United beginning today,” said Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, GM India.

On July 23, Manchester United will play its first match in the new Chevrolet-branded shirt against the L.A. Galaxy at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
