Tata’s domestic sales for the past couple of years, were following a downward trend that cost them their placein the top five sellers in India. One of the prime reasons for the downfall was the lack of new models in their portfolio. However the launch of the Zest brought sales back to the Indian manufacturer. The Zest became a runaway success and outsold the Honda Amaze in October 2014. Carrying forward the winning momentum, Tata is all set to launch the Bolt early next year, but you can now book the hatchback version of the Zest online. Customers can book the Bolt by visiting http://bookonline.tatamotors.com/ and make a payment of Rs 11,000.

The second new car from the manufacturer’s Horizonext initiative is the off-spring of three Tata Motors design studios — Pune (India), Coventry (UK), and Turin (Italy). The design is also expected to be the new face of future Tata cars. The Bolt will be available in petrol and diesel. The petrol will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged engine christened as Revotron 1.2T, with a power output of 89bhp and peak torque of 140Nm. The car also features driving different modes such as Sport, City, Eco modes, which will be USP for this vehicle. The diesel variant comes with a 74bhp 1.3-litre engine, delivering 190Nm of torque. The car also features the 9th generation ABS by Bosch for braking efficiency, and Corner Stability Control (CSC) for added safety. Tata Motors had also teamed-up with Harman for developing the touchscreen infotainment system, with MapMyIndia for smartphone based navigation, which can also provide other location based services.
