Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) has launched the Etios Cross and prices starts from Rs 5.76 lakh. The Etios Cross is a rugged version of the Etios Liva hatchback and was showcased during the 2014 Auto Expo. The same model had launched in Brazil a couple of months back.

The Etios Cross is a pure visual makeover meaning that the ground clearance, wheelbase and even the mechanical department are untouched and are the same as the hatchback. Black plastic cladding around the lower section of the car gives the Etios Cross a rugged look and an SUV-like stance. Wheel arches and bumpers have been beefed up while the sliver finished skid plates, bull bars, rear bumper and side cladding add a premium touch to the crossover. Prominent roof rails sum up the visual changes to the vehicle. In addition to the seven colours that are available for the hatchback variant, the crossover will be available in a new sporty Inferno Orange.

Toyota offers its crossover in four trims and three engine options. The petrol motor options are the 89 bhp, 1.5-litre engine available in V trim priced at Rs 7.35 lakh and the smaller 79bhp, 1.2-litre engine available in G trim, priced at Rs 5.76 lakh. Speaking at the occasion, Naomi Ishii, Managing Director of TKM said, “The B car segment is one of the fastest growing segments in the industry. Segment growth comes along with fast changing customer requirements. Customers today want a vehicle with unique styling that will make a statement. The Etios Cross has been introduced to cater to these needs.
