Toyota’s Land Cruiser Prado updated
Toyota has launched the updated Land Cruiser Prado in India, priced at Rs 84.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Changes to the exterior include a newly designed front grille, bumper, fog lamps, redesigned LED headlamps with day time running lights, a new rear license plate garnish and new tail lamps. On the inside, the Land Cruiser Prado gets a seven-inch display infotainment system and heated second row seats.
Toyota is also offering a choice between flaxen and black interior trims to contrast with the external colours. Toyota has bundled in driver aids like a tyre pressure monitor, Crawl Control that manages the throttle and brakes for the driver over jagged off-road terrain or on slippery surfaces and the Multi-Terrain Select and Multi-Terrain Monitor that monitor the surroundings and also allow the driver to choose between driving conditions like Rock, Rock and Dirt, Loose Rock and Mud and Sand.
The new Prado retains the 3.0-litre common-rail D-4D diesel engine producing 170bhp and 410Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Prado has been well received, with the SUV appealing to luxury car buyers as well, and Toyota is certain the update will boost its image.
