Triumph was an early entrant to the adventure tourer motorcycle segment in India with it’s Tiger twins. Initially available in 800 and 1200cc versions, the range was expanded with the recently released 800 XCx and XRx models. The Tiger XR brings the count to four. Available for Rs 10,50,000 ex-showroom, Delhi, the bike benefits from local assembly in bringing its price down. This makes it the cheapest adventure bike Triumph sells in the country. In the process, it loses some electronic bells and whistles such as switchable riding modes and cruise control, but retains ABS and traction control for safety, albeit simpler systems. The seat differs from its more expensive stable-mates and there’s no adjustable windscreen or centre-stand. The motor is the same 800cc 95hp triple shared by the XR range and claims a 17% increase in efficiency over the previous 800. The bike is available in crystal white (pictured) and phantom black paint schemes.
