Honda has revealed that it will be resurrecting its iconic Africa Twin by showing off a dirt-encrusted and camo-covered motorcycle at EICMA. Honda has enjoyed a long string of success with the original Africa Twin aka the XRV750 — a dual purpose motorcycle that enjoyed a cult status from 1989 to 2003 in both the civilian and motorsport arena.

While Honda hasn’t revealed any details about the bike except for the bit that the motorcycle will focus more on off-road performance than on-road capability, Industry sources speculate that the 2015 Africa Twin will be powered by a 1000cc parallel twin and overall the bike will be slimmer in profile for a more trail-focussed capability further exemplified by 21-inch front and 18-inch rear dirt tyres.

A close look at the bike reveals the absence of a clutch lever, most likely pointing out to the use of Honda’s dual-clutch automatic transmission. We will have to wait till further information comes out. Till then feast your eyes on the 2015 Africa Twin gallery.
