You need to see this: 600bhp Audi S1 v RC Audi S1

David v Goliath. Electric power v 600bhp quattro. The end of this video may have been spoiled for those familiar with the story but Audi’s quattro RC Car Challenge displays quite a showdown between two Audis. Two time DTM champion, Mattias Ekström, pilots a completely rad Audi S1 which has a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor pumping out a claimed 600 horsepower, transmitting that power to all four wheels. It can even beat a Bugatti Veyron SuperSport to 100kmph, taking all of 2 seconds to pass the ton mark!

Ekstrom’s rival in this video is a remote control replica of the mad rallycross machine, with Micha Widmaier, two-time German junior champion, putting the dinky doppelgänger through its paces.

The race takes place in a warehouse, and while Ekström’s S1 is forced to drive around the various obstacles strewn about, the pint-sized RC S1 just goes below them, making up for the serious lack of power (in comparison). I did mention the whole David v Goliath story, didn’t I?
