You need to see this: Reactions to the Tesla P85D’s instant torque

We’ve all seen the videos of the all-electric Tesla P85D out pacing supercars on a drag strip (for a certain distance), and we know that the reason is the instant torque delivered by the 85kW battery pack. Total output is claimed at 691 horsepower and dyno tests have revealed the torque figure to be a whopping 1171Nm. Imagine all that twisting force coming in from the word, go! No wonder a 0–100kmph time of 3.2 seconds is claimed.

DragTimes has uploaded a video that shows people’s (the common man and woman) reaction to the P85D’s acceleration in ‘Insane’ mode (yes, the manufacturer has actually labeled it as Insane mode), and to say that some experienced fear is a serious understatement. This guy wants to scare the pants off all his passengers and the Tesla P85D provides the excitement, and how. One even discribes it as a plane taking off. Now that’s torque!
