5 Ways To Be In Harmony With Your Wardrobe
I’ll never deviate from the belief that our clothing should be in perfect harmony with who we are. Persons who have the capability and understanding of doing this demonstrate such a balance between character and wardrobe; with both subjects melding together to form a perfect kinship that tells a beautiful story.
There’s a reason why some people wear their clothing with such elegance. When you spot this type of person, your natural instinct is to watch and examine how they occupy their space with such grace and ease — human conjoined with attire, and reflecting a harmonious self-confidence. It’s something you look at and wish for yourself.
Five Key Elements To Find Wardrobe Harmony
- Your clothing choices should project your personality and character:
If you’re a vivacious, free-spirited art lover, chances are you’ll gravitate toward attire that has the same vibe. Seeing a person living this type of lifestyle in a serious navy blue suit, a conservative blouse, and sensible pumps would seem out of sync. There are so many stores available to you which can help you convey your true message through your clothes. Make sure you shop in stores that radiate your personality and way of life.
2. Wear clothing that naturally enhances your best features:
As an example, I love my shoulders. I feel they are one of the sexiest parts of my body. Therefore I have always been a great lover of off-the-shoulder, racer-backs, halters, and other designs that allow me to display this area. If you love your legs, then by all means, show them off! When you feel good in the clothes you wear, you project an energy to onlookers that causes us to stand up and take notice.
3. Radiate your essence by wearing colors that showcase your essence:
According to an online source called, Psychologia, that considers color in respect to personality — there may be a connection between certain hues and personality types. For myself, I’m very fond of yellow and shades of green. After viewing the descriptions on the website, I discovered my relationship with the colors is aligned with my character. Do I wear these colors every day? No, I don’t, but I have a clear understanding as to why I’m so attracted to them. Here is what Psychologia says about the two colors:
Yellow: People with yellow color personality are perfectionists. They have high expectations and big plans. This is a type of personality that spends a lot of time dreaming, imagining how things could be. They have big goals, however they need to work on themselves and keep focused to actually achieve these goals.
Green: The color green is a wonderful color. It symbolizes nature and peace and has positive impact on our vision.
4. Wear garments that intertwine your soul with fabrics:
In the same way we are drawn to certain colors, we also connect with specific fabrics. I find my greatest inspiration comes when I’m connected with nature, so naturally, I prefer to wear fabrics that aren’t man-made, such as cotton, linen, silk, cashmere, woolens, etc.
5. Select garments that envelop the natural form of your body:
I know what some of you may be thinking — I don’t want anything to envelop the shape of my body. Trust me when I say, if your physique isn’t exactly the way you hope, wearing oversized and stiff garments will give opposite results. Selecting silhouettes that cascade, flow and move with your natural form is much more harmonious than wearing garments that will add more bulk.
The goal is to be at peace with your wardrobe and to not feel as if you’re fighting with what hangs in your closet. A perfect wardrobe should be an extension of who you are, if not, you’ll always feel less harmonious, resulting in a nagging desire to rework your apparel.
