  1. Smile, even when nobody is looking.
  2. Stop being a people pleaser. Sometimes you need to say ‘no’.
  3. Every time you look in the mirror, say something kind. I mean it, every time!
  4. Travel somewhere alone.
  5. Don’t accept people treating you poorly.
  6. Remember that you can easily become the average of the people that you spend most time with.
  7. Exercise daily. I’m serious, if you’re not doing it already, begin now, it will change your life!
  8. Start to believe that your friends really love you!
  9. Work takes up a lot of time, so don’t let it become a miserable place. If you want to change your career, get a promotion or makes changes, start planning now.
  10. Take on one big challenge every year, that is beyond your current capability.
  11. Volunteer as a mentor to the youth.
  12. Contact old friends or people who have had a positive influence on your life and thank them.
  13. Wear your favourite top, burn the candles, use your best dishes. Don’t save anything for a special occasion, being alive today is reason enough to celebrate!
  14. Write down your goals and put them somewhere that you’ll see them every day. Begin with ‘dream’ goals, then work backwards through five, three and one year goals.
  15. Start treating yourself, like you treat your best friend.
  16. Take yoga classes.
  17. Write a list of everything that you have achieved in your life, including every new experience, it might surprise you.
  18. Start taking lessons in the thing that you’ve always wanted to but were too scared to do.
  19. Meditate. It can help bring peace and solidity.
  20. Have a scheduled break from technology.
  21. Embrace your sexuality.
  22. Get a bikini body. This involves putting on a bikini and smiling.
  23. Learn one completely random thing every day, unrelated to your normal life.
  24. Start a bullet point journal.
  25. Take control of your finances and create a plan.
  26. Begin to listen to your intuition. Your soul will tell you when something isn’t quite right.
  27. Start making every human interaction positive.
  28. Forgive others for their mistakes. Sometimes humans screw up — fact.
  29. Forgive yourself for your mistakes. You are human too.
  30. Dance in the rain, dance in the sea, dance under the stars, just dance.
  31. Forget the word ‘diet’ and check out your nutrition. Fuel your life. Fuel your energy. Fuel your brain. Fuel your strength.
  32. Have the smear test, have the mammogram, check your body for changes, every day. At some point in your life, you will need a doctor. Go!
  33. Quit moaning about the things that you cannot change. It might be pouring with rain but it’s your choice whether you whinge or whether you dance.
  34. Don’t be afraid to show adoration to the people you love. Sometimes you’ll get hurt. When you feel the wall creeping up around you again, take a hammer and knock it down!
  35. Tell the people that are taking too much from you, that it is too much.
  36. Find a reason to laugh every day!. Laughing is a cure for sadness, loneliness and fear.
  37. Accept that everyone needs support. If you are struggling with something, find the support you need.
  38. Learn how to create a passive income.
  39. Get a mentor or coach. It’s OK not to know everything. It’s OK to seek guidance.
  40. Find your inner child and have fun! Jump in puddles, skip down the road, sing silly songs!
  41. Learn about minimalism.
  42. Quit making ‘to do’ lists and start blocking time for your most important tasks.
  43. Reconnect with family.
  44. Sometimes life can feel very dark. Even on those days, keep stepping forwards, crawl if you have to but don’t give up.
  45. Play music really loud. Play opera, play rock, play ballads and sing at the top of your lungs.
  46. Go somewhere beautiful at least once a month. The beach, the mountains, the park, the lake.
  47. Remember that stretch marks and cellulite are normal.
  48. It’s OK to cry, it’s OK to feel anger, it’s OK to feel frustration, it’s what you do with these emotions that counts.
  49. Read, every day! But not beauty magazines! Real life isn’t photo-shopped, it isn’t perfect, don’t allow yourself to be convinced that it should be.
  50. If you live to the age of 80 that is only 960 months or 4,160 weeks or 29,200 days or 700,800 hours or 42,048,000 minutes.
  51. Stretch. Stretch your body, stretch your mind, stretch your limits.
  52. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. Don’t be intimidated by those succeeding in something you want, support them, encourage them and that will take you higher in life than anyone could dream.
  53. Failing does not make you a failure! It makes you human.
  54. Bad things can happen to good people and working hard does not always mean success. Life can beat you up, leaving you battered and bruised. Clad your character with wonderful and joyous experiences and use them as your armour.
  55. Setting boundaries does not make you bossy, enjoying sex does not make you a slut and standing up for yourself does not make you a bitch.
  56. Listen to advice like this, act on what inspires you, spread the inspiration to others but remember that you are enough, just as you are!
