Birds Outside

Poem for solitude.

Such soft feathered sweetness

singing little chorus songs

they are gentle miracles

for us to awake to beauty

cardinals get wet

in a rainstorm

wish I could dry them

I built them two little bird houses

for them stay

some go in

especially the curious wren

little friends of the day

caress the rainbows stay

looking for seed

a prayer bead

for them.
