I recently had the pleasure of interviewing country singer/songwriter Dillon Carmichael. The Nashville based musician sat down to discuss his background and a few things he wished he’d learned along the way.

What is your backstory?

I am originally from a small town called Burgin, Kentucky. I was surrounded by music growing up; it is very important to my family. In high school, I was the treasurer of the FFA, and I loved to ride around our small town in my truck. I moved to Nashville and have been living here for 5 years now. What are some of the most exciting projects you’re currently working on?

Releasing the album is the most exciting project I am working on. I cannot wait for the world to hear it.

Who are the most famous people you’ve interacted with? What was that like?

Well, I met this guy with a cool beard once at the mall. His name was Santa Claus — I hear he is pretty famous.

Who inspires you?

Personally, my family inspires me; they have taught me most everything I know. Music wise — Hank Jr, Hank Sr., Lynyard Skynard, Billy Jo Shaffer, Bill…
