We can put our perspectives last — spend more time understanding other people’s view of the world. It could change our perceptions and let us out of the trap of our limitations.

Often times, our reactions are curated by our own experiences. Ideas and beliefs that are true for us may not ring true for others. The goal is not to learn every detail about other people. It’s to be mindful of the fact that there is another perspective to consider before reacting.

Eliminate the “right or wrong” approach and accept the general understanding of what has been presented.

Consider the situation from :

  • Your own perspective
  • The other person’s perspective
  • An observer perspective

Use the what you’ve learned from this exercise to re position yourself in the situation. How has your perspective changed?
