How to Listen to Your Body

Because it’s smarter than you.

Forget listening to the health rules. Even the new and improved ones.

Break the rules.

Listen to your body.

It has wisdom.

When your body hurts, stop.

When your body is tired, sleep.

When your body is stressed, meditate.

If you feel a runny nose coming on, eat chicken soup. With noodles. Break the rules.

If you get sick, your body is telling you to slow down and take care of yourself.

That you might need to do something to be healthier.

My patient Flavie once told me, “Dr. Steven, How ya gonna take care of all of us if ya can’t take care of yourself?”

You might need to do something.

Something just for you.

Something to get over your cold faster.

Something to be healthier.

Listen to your body a little bit more today.

Keep listening.

Microstep: Let your body do the talking today. Your only job is to listen to it with intention.
