It’s Time for New Leadership!

Why does it seem that so many people are freaking out these days? I keep hearing my peers say that their enrollment numbers are way off, cancellations for appointments are rising, and friends, family, and colleagues are ignoring important work they say they need to complete. In other words, there’s a huge resistance occurring and a hiatus between the norm of work. We are departing a period of decades where toxic macho masculine energy has been ruling our society. Until we identify and remove that old toxic thinking and the resultant actions from our lives, there will be resistance to the possibilities of living a Legendary Lifestyle. The time is now to replace the old with 21st century evolved and enlightened men and women. This is more of a shift than the abandoning of everything you have come to know and believe in. To help with this shift, consider the 7 characteristics that create harmonic fulfillment in your life.

Our world is most peaceful when these 7 characteristics are in harmony and integrated, versus at odds with each other as it has been to date. When we are out of harmony, there is a state of unease, or a freak-out that occurs because things just don’t seem to be working no matter the effort we seem to put forth.

Think back to the 60’s (or open a history book) and you will see a key element of that time was the flow of love, of the feminine, and of speaking the truth. Prior to this period, life was predominantly about mission and freedom. After the 60’s, we went back to mission and freedom as the way forward for society. Mission and freedom are very masculine in their energy, which feels safe because that is how we have thrived throughout history. Safe is not necessarily what is needed right now, because that mission and freedom drive has become toxic. The shift exhibited in the 60’s has once again arrived, and what is needed now is a change in the priority or order of the 7 Characteristics: adventure, speaking our truth through love, filling up, and serving our mission and pursuit of freedom. What’s not needed is a complete abandonment of the mission and freedom, but an emphasis on the 7 Characteristics in a way that allows us feel safe. Mission can no longer be the lead character by itself; we are tired of checking boxes for the sake of completing a to do list. We now require adventure and speaking our truth through love during the journey, as opposed to just crossing the finish line to find yet another empty victory. The “Me Too” movement has been a perfect example of screaming for the end of toxic masculinity. Both women and men have been spot-on in bringing this issue to the forefront.

This is not the start of a gender war; it’s the start of creating energy harmonics within ourselves individually, and how that harmony connects us to others no matter what your gender, ethnicity, or religion. We can learn to lead and put ourselves forward in our relationships, businesses, and communities in an empowering way.

Our view of fast food restaurants over the last 40 years is a great example of this shift in needs. What was once a convenience for busy lifestyles of work, work, work, has changed. People now want to have experiences and enjoy when and what they are eating. Simply grabbing something to fill your stomach on the run is no longer satisfying.

Another example: In past years, people were used to going and sitting in a cubicle at work all day because it served a common agreement. The mission was production for the employer, and financial security for the employee. With the shift in order now coming into full force, it’s more desirable to be portable, to work from home or while you travel the world. It has become important for people to work from a place of personal comfort in an inspired setting. The aesthetics (filling up, feeling safe, and environment that speaks the truth of who we are) acknowledges the need for the adventure related to one's work life, and the results are just as productive if not more.

Old school leaders are falling out of favor if they refuse to embrace these other 4 characteristics and lead by example to serve their missions freely. This doesn’t mean there’s an absence of the mission or freedom, but instead, lead from a sense of adventure in life while still completing your mission. Remember it’s about the adventure and the journey as much as it is as it is about the destination.

The time of hierarchy and kings is something we need to say goodbye to. A hierarchy is something millennials have recognized and understand as old school structure and is no longer efficient or effective. Regardless of which political side you associate with, the reason so many people today are upset with President Trump is that he doesn’t understand that there is a vast difference between speaking your truth and speaking your truth through love. If he simply spoke his truth with empathy and compassion, he could still serve the same mission but with much more support and acceptance. This is a prime example of how the old-school ‘king’ is disjointed from his kingdom. It’s time to pay attention to the shift to see how it is unfolding in your life. Old patterns are shifting and dissolving, and we want to be grounded for our best future.

Where do you feel like you’re not able to speak your truth through love? Are you afraid of doing this? If you really speak your truth, will people say, you’re crazy, judge you, or medicate you? Look at what is holding you back and what needs to happen to serve you in a way that is complimentary to the other energy that allows you to fill up. Take time to understand what your message is and your purpose. What needs to be included to feel heard at home, at work, anywhere you feel silenced today? Have you included the 4 characteristics for your new life: adventure, filling up, feeling safe and speaking your truth through love? Are you leading your message, so the supporting factor becomes the mission, freedom, and love?

Tips-

· Know that the new leading characteristics of your journey is adventure and filling up of your being. This may not always mean it’s going to be easy; it can get hard. Sometimes it can even feel scary. Be courageous and stick with it.

· One of the differences between coming into harmony with your voice and your actions is a conscious effort to speak your truth through love. This means coming from a place of both strength as well as empathy and compassion rather than pure judgment.

· When you have empathy and compassion, you seek to understand, not necessarily agree.

· Begin to use the 4 new leading characteristics: adventure, filling up, feeling safe and speaking your truth through love to serve your mission to success.
