My Daily Eating Practice… Give Yourself a Blessing
First off, I want to share how grateful and thankful I am for all of you, and send a special blessing your way!
Below I have one of my daily practices for when eating and preparing food that is so simple, yet can make a huge difference in your life.
If you’ve watched the Disney movie Avatar (I love this movie!) or have an understanding of many religions and beyond, you know that we are all connected. We are connected to each other whether we like it or not, as well as the earth that we live and eat from daily.
One thing I recently learned from the “Medical Medium” is how smart our food is. When you are preparing fruits and vegetables, holding them in your hand, maybe as you are slicing it, this living food is connecting to your body and reading the nutrients and energy that you need. How amazing is that?!! So regardless of what the nutrition facts are, you are also getting a healing energy from this food. The “Medical Medium” recommends holding your food for at least 30 seconds to allow the food to fully read your body’s needs.
As far as energy goes, when you are eating animal products, you are also absorbing their energy. The energy of their experience while living as well as the energy of their death. I’m not saying don’t eat meat, I am just informing you. In fact, one of my very “in tune” friends recently stopped eating animal products altogether because she felt the death energy so intensely. Personally, I eat meat, just not as much as I used too.
One of the things I do before every meal to counteract any negative energies is bless my food. I do this almost without fail these days. Here’s what I say if you want to include it as a new habit before eating as well!
“Please bless this food, bless everyone involved in getting it to me,
(which could be millions of people if you think about it) and allow this food to nourish me with love, light, and healing so that I can also nourish the world.”
I don’t know if it has anything to do with it, but I’ll confirm I’ve lost a few “lbs” since starting this blessing practice almost two years ago now.
This blessing supports us in being more conscious while we eat and being in a place of grace vs having any guilty or shameful thoughts which bring our body stress.
The last thing you want is shameful negative thoughts while eating because it inhibits your body’s ability to break down the food and absorb nutrients vs being in love with the food you are eating and so grateful and thankful for it and all who were involved in getting it to you.
