19 Questions You Need to Ask Yourself At the End of Each Day

And why it’s important to self-reflect.

Technology is changing the way we think, focus, work, and interact with others, which means that more than ever we need to pause and think about what is really happening in our day-to-day life.

While technology provides us with many positives, it could easily impair us and remove us from life’s true and real moments.

And since I’d like to continue using technology to my advantage and wish the same for you, over the years, I’ve come up with a set of questions which help me reflect daily on life. By reflecting on life’s moments, on external and internal level, I gain a deeper understanding of my life, others and all that surrounds me.

Questions I ask myself at the end of each day to keep my life on track:

  1. Did I discover something new about myself?
  2. Did I express my gratefulness to someone?
  3. Did I do something out of my ordinary daily agenda?
  4. Did I make someone smile?
  5. Did I talk to someone I love?
  6. Did I meet someone new?
  7. Did I contribute value to the world?
  8. Did I remove any limiting beliefs?
  9. Did I make time for physical activity?
  10. Did I fuel my body properly?
  11. Did I laugh?
  12. Did I make someone else laugh?
  13. Did I learn something new?
  14. Did I recall a memory that made me happy?
  15. Did I do something that was out of my comfort zone?
  16. Did I experience any stress and how did I manage it?
  17. Did I manage my time efficiently?
  18. Did I show up in the best possible way? Calm, confident, assertive, kind, inspiring?
  19. Did I have my attention focused in the right places?

Although I run these questions through my mind, I propose you head to grab a pen and reflect on your daily life experiences by writing them down until they become creatures of your habits.

There’s no right or wrong answer. You’re the writer or your story.

While searching for the positives in our daily life, Adam Gazzaley, M.D., Ph.D. says that, “despite all the very real concerns, mobile technology can be harnessed to improve our minds. There are ongoing efforts by cognitive science laboratories and companies to develop cognitive assessment and brain training software that will function on mobile phones and tables. This field is still in its infancy, but early signs are encouraging.”

Even though we know that these cognitive assessments and brain training softwares will be developed, let’s continue to reflect on life daily, as it allows us to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, life, others and all that surrounds us.
