Quiet Mind, Loud Intuition
Conserving our Energy for What Really Matters

It started with leaving the light on in my car…twice…and people graciously telling me about it so it wouldn’t drain my battery. Then, my bathroom overflowed with water, twice in one week. Everything that happens is feedback from the universe, and I immediately went to, “What is the universe telling me right now? How am I attracting this?” It turned out that just as my light was draining my car battery, I was losing energy to unproductive thoughts. Just as the water was overflowing in my bathroom, my energy was overflowing and being wasted on worry. At a time when the universe was strongly encouraging me to conserve my energy for channeling and become as efficient as possible, these mild signs gently showed up as indicators to let go of any last mental patterns of self-criticism and other forms of resistance. I cleaned up my thoughts and took my practice to a whole new level of mental stillness and emotional balance. After a day of committing to a higher perspective on mental discipline, a yoga class and a nourishing massage, the flooding was resolved with no additional effort on my part and a new cycle of flow, sychronicity and fulfillment on all levels began in my life.
When our mind is quiet, our intuition is loud. The more space we create in between our thoughts, the easier we can hear the advice and information from Source and other Light energies. As an intuitive, the more I channel, the less I think, and the less I think, the more energy I conserve for what really matters. Energy efficiency is a huge part of spiritual growth. Intuition lands when we hold still. Our body may move, but our thoughts and emotions must be balanced and steady. Intuition is only as good and sustainable as the spiritual work we do to give it a foundational consciousness from which to operate. In calm water we can see so many details reflected, but in ripples and waves it’s hard to make out the same image. The perfect guidance is always there; we need to become clear and calm vessels to receive it. What are some ways we can quiet the mind?
The Five Senses
Noticing the sounds, sights, smells, tastes and touch sensations in the moment help to direct the focus to the present and give the brain something to be mindful about instead of reeling about things that upset or worry us. We can always pause and pay attention to our surroundings, our breath and our body.
Physical Exertion
One of my favorite things to do to keep my mind calm is work out and then meditate or do energy healing right after. When our physical body is relaxed, it’s much easier for the mind to let go too. However, sometimes we can use physical activity to distract ourselves or avoid and numb emotional discomfort. During physical activity, we still need to be present with our body and movement, not just go through the motions and let our brains check out or go down a rabbit hole of anxious thoughts, criticism or judgment.
Creativity
When we’re making something with our hands, playing an instrument, dancing, singing, writing or being creative in other ways we enjoy, our mind goes from a state of analyzing to a receptive and inspired state of flow. It also brings up our level of passion, which makes us feel energized and happy. In this state, we experience more empowering thoughts and become very attractive to ourself and others.
Appreciation
No matter the time and place we find ourselves in, we can find things we appreciate…kind actions from strangers or loved ones, beauty in our surroundings, attributes in ourself and people we come across, a delicious bite of a meal…the more we go on and on, the more our vibration rises, the more we see the gifts in our life and the more pleasing circumstances we attract, which in turn make it much easier to stay balanced and in alignment.
Developing our Intuition
This is my area of expertise, my life’s work and my passion. Intuition and emotional healing work hand in hand. When we let go of our emotional baggage, our intuition improves because we stop wasting energy on painful thoughts…and living intuitively sets us free by connecting us to our pure truth, uninfluenced by thought and emotion. When we are in dialogue with Source and Light energies, connected to our Higher Self and listening to all the constant messages and supportive help these energies are communicating to us, we can embody and manifest the highest levels of happiness. The more we quiet negative thoughts through mindfulness using our five senses, constructive physical exertion, creativity, appreciation and developing our intuition, the more capacity we have to embody a higher awareness and set ourselves free.
