Rejection

I’ve received enough rejection emails to know that if it doesn’t begin with “Congratulations!” it will usually end in some kind of disappointment.

Recently, reality decided to smack me in the face with the humiliating defeat of failure rejection.

Congratulations!

You were not selected

Aka inadequate

Basically unwanted

You’ve just been rejected!

Dream crushed

Hope shattered

Optimism failed

Ego flattened

Any way you look at it, this answer is no.

1. Take the day to be miserable.

Cry tears of disappointment

Stare at space and think about nothing

Sulk

Feel all of the bleh

Fully

Nothing hurts more than getting stabbed with 100% pure honesty.

2. Admit your rejection to other human beings.

To anyone willing to pause and listen

Out loud

Over and over again

Until its no longer words+pain,

Just words+a lingering sadness.

3. Make plans for a better tomorrow.

Because today is kinda very sucky

And “No” feels personal

But tomorrow is a brand new day with the potential to be better

And another opportunity for “Yes.”

4. Approach life with a different pair of (perspective) lenses.

There is There definitely is,

so much more in life to pursue.

You have You definitely have,

the strength to continue

and create the life that you desire.

Believe in yourself

Keep swimming forward

Have faith.
