Rising Above Pessimism And Developing Optimism

There’s something to be grateful for, in every negative situation. Find it.

Do you ever notice how the Universe, this extremely vast, open and explosive, ever changing and evolving world we live in, made up of waves and vibrations being in constant dialog with each other, give energy to everyone; radiating from us and being captured by others and affecting everything around us?

Energy that becomes our main strength. Energy that is the most powerful generator of our destiny. Energy that determines how we perceive others. Energy that determines our relationships with everything that happens to us and surrounds us.

Energy that is determined by thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes.

Oftentimes people are dissatisfied with their lives, the places they live, the people they surround themselves with, desperately wanting to change everything.

What they don’t realize is that the energy of discontent attracts more things they do not like and they do not wish for.

Dissatisfaction is purely materialistic, emitting negative energy and in no way being helpful to them.

What actually brings discontent?

Dissatisfied people are usually bad company. They always grumble, complain and they can never be pleased.

For instance, if you were to have a displeased individual over for dinner, they will most likely notice the stain on your tablecloth, the way you’ve positioned your table, the way you’ve positioned the silverware and the smell from your kitchen.

Yet, they would not pay attention and express gratitude for the wonderful taste of the food you’ve made for them, or for the simple fact that you’re all together spending time with each other, or that you are laughing and having a good time.

These people are able to spoil the mood of the entire company with their eternal wrath and whimper. They always focus on the bad things and never see anything good.

As we all know, when an individual concentrates on anything, it intensifies. Thus all of these problems and irregularities begin to look as if they are enormous and irreparable; these individuals don’t notice anything else, as if their horizon begins to narrow.

You might say that sometimes people see the world only in dark gray colors because there are “problem,” because one is “suffering.” And when things begin to improve these people begin to look at everything in a different way.

The truth is that the malcontent individual will always see the world in gray colors.

Regardless of what changes and what becomes better, this person always finds something not to like and something to be dissatisfied with.

Discontent becomes a common internal attitude.

When you are unhappy, you torture yourself by anger; you begin to feel sorry for yourself, to condemn yourself, others and the world. You feel bad, as if the world is against you, that you need to be always in a struggle mode, trying to repair and change reality.

As you can see discontent cannot help you and cannot change your life for the better, but it will make you suffer in every respect.

This is why it’s necessary for you to change your attitude from discontent to gratitude.

Living with gratitude, noticing and recognizing the value in your own self and in others, the desire to see the good, and the beautiful around you, to find the good in every situation and every person and to be grateful for it.

Living with gratitude is not so difficult, nor is it some idealistic idea.

You just need to change your focus.

Unlike discontent gratitude is one of the most valuable vibrations in our energy field.

  • The grateful individual feels joy, peace, excitement, and positive energy and spreads it around.
  • When you’re grateful, you seem to acquire magnetic forces and become a magnet for more things to be grateful for. This way, your life begins to improve in every respect.

The fundamental law of the Universe tells us that when you want something to change, and if you want to develop and improve your life, you must first appreciate the things you have at the present moment.

Not after a while, when things become better or are what you would like them to be — being grateful at the here and now.

What to do in order to change your attitude?

  1. Purchase a notebook and create a gratitude journal.

Record daily the things you’re grateful for. Regardless of how bad you feel at that particular moment, I trust that there will be thousands of things that you can write that you are grateful for and that make you happy.

Look around and write down all the little things that make you feel good and you appreciate — the sun light, the cool rain, the birds chirping, the scent of the flowers, the smile of people around you. Thank yourself for something you did that deserves praise or something you have.

Thank the people who are around you. Even if you are angry with someone, there is always something to thank him or her for.

If you hate someone who has left you and who you cannot forgive, think about things that you can be grateful for in him or her. You lived unforgettable moments, you learned something from each other.

If people around you are not what you want them to be, thank them for bringing the feeling that you’re not alone, that their presence gives you security and that they help you look at the world in a different perspective.

There’s something to be grateful for, in every negative situation. Find it.

In fact, the best way to remove thing you do not like and to change for the better is to thank that person, wish them happiness and let them go.

Gradually you will begin to notice more good; you’ll be surprised that there are so many things that you will be grateful for.

2. Obtain adequate sleep.

Psychological studies have shown that people who lack sleep experience more negativity and irritability and have more severe anxiety. Under the influence of stress and not much sleep, one lives in painful anticipation of unpredictable danger. One imagines things that are not even possible.

Probably all anxiety prevents them from sleeping, feeling happy and content and not having the desire to solve their problems. It should be understood that sleep gives much solace and rejuvenates the mind to see things from a different lens. Sleep restores the expanded physical and mental energy of the day. The nervous system cannot be stable without adequate sleep.

3. Live every day as if it was your last.

If today was your last day on earth, whose voice would you want to hear, whom would you want to be surrounded by? What would you tell people that you care for? What will you leave behind? What will you do? Living life as if today is your last day on earth will bring light, love and meaning to you.

4. Not judging others.

Oftentimes people point fingers at others, watching the reprehensible actions of others, so they can feel less guilty of their own. Such convictions are dark and negative. On the other hand, unconditional acceptance of things and people as they are, raises your consciousness and appreciation for all that surrounds you and helps you take everything as it is.

5. Being aware of your thoughts and feelings.

It is very easy to fall into the widespread negativity that surrounds humanity, while not raising one’s own consciousness. Many people feel, as if they are victims of life and the society they live in. In order not to fall in such situations, reflecting on your thoughts and feelings, several times per day is of vital importance. When you feel that you are regressive, don’t blame yourself for that and try to lift your mood with something that makes you happy. This way you will ultimately switch your mind to gratitude and positive thinking.

6. Take care of your physical body.

Your body is the only vehicle that you can use in this journey called “life.” Regular exercise and healthy balanced diet boost energy, vitality and joy. Cherishing your body increases your physical and mental energy.

7. Watch the world through the eyes of a child.

Remember when you were a child and the process of experiencing every wonder and beauty you were in touch with fascinated you? As a child you were mesmerized by your surroundings. Watching every tree, the sunset, the sunrise, the clouds, the birds, the people you met daily, the sounds you heard. Watch the world through the eyes of a child and you will be amazed by the joy and enlightenment you’ll experience again.

8. Giving love, generously, to everyone around you.

Do you remember what it felt when you fell in love for the first time? Why was this feeling so wonderful? Because love is the highest vibration of all that surrounds us. Open yourself to loving others. Giving unconditional love, regardless of taking the chance that you might be hurt. This love will help you experience higher levels of consciousness.
