Stop Saying “I Love You!”

Because love is a verb.

Stop saying “I love you!”

It’s empty and meaningless.

Show instead of tell.

Love.

What’s telling got to do with it?

Nada.

Love.

It’s a verb for sure.

Love is about doing.

Showing.

Doing rather than thinking of doing.

Waking up and sending an “I love you man” email to an old friend.

For no reason.

You did it.

Doing.

Love is an action word.

An imperfect action word.

Nothing you do coming from love will be perfect.

Some people will think you’re a macadamia nut.

Who cares.

You did it.

You expressed love in the world.

You acted.

You acted imperfectly.

You loved.

Microstep: Show someone you love them today without saying it. Do something — anything — that really expresses that love. Today, let “love is a verb” be your mantra and go do lovely things.
