Set Goals You Strongly Care About (Do Things You Can Sustain)

A staggering 92 percent of people don’t achieve their goals.
The other 8 percent are ordinary people with an extraordinary amount of determination, who consistently commit to finish what they start.
The people who finish what they start aren’t the smartest, brightest, or most talented. They are just more committed to their end goals.
They are not defeated by countless setbacks.
There is no point setting goals for yourself if you won’t also love the path you have to take to achieve them.
A compelling goal has a deeper meaning to you. It is the kind of goal that excites you and brings out the best in you.
Before you set any goal for your life or business before you download apps to mark your progress, before you give up everything for what you actually want, ask yourself if you deeply care about that goal.
It is important to be clear about what you want. Be very specific about it.
Only set goals if they give you life. Good goals provide direction to your life. They allow you to commit to a journey.
It’s unlikely that you’ll make progress on your goals if they feel like a chore.
If you are unable to generate enough reasons to pursue your goals, you will likely quit when the going gets tough.
There are no absolutes in life, and there are no givens.
Everything is up for grabs if you have the willpower and can push yourself no matter the discomfort.
Goals take time, hard work, perseverance, and commitment to achieve. It better be worth your time.
If you want to succeed with your personal goals, choose one or two key areas of focus that align with what really matters to you. What you deeply care about. What excites you. What makes you come alive.
Know your why
Why do you want to achieve your specific goals?
Why this month, this year, or next year?
It’s important to you. It’s something you want. Something you think about.
What will achieving your goal allow you to do?
What problem will it solve for you?
How will it make you a better person?
Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to start a blog? Why do you want to write a book? Why do you want to read 50 books a year?
Think of your goals and know your “why” for each of your goals.
Take time to think about why you want to achieve your goals, understand your true motivations for success.
What tasks are you going to take on your goals every day? This is something that you need to know and write down.
Embrace the action habit!
There are little things that you can do every day towards your goals that will get you closer to success.
Don’t discard your goals because you can’t achieve them. If you care about enough you will make a commitment plan to get them done, otherwise, you will make excuses.
“Never reduce a target,” says Grant Cardonem, author of The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure.
“Instead, increase actions. When you start rethinking your targets, making up excuses and letting yourself off the hook, you are giving up on your dreams!” he advised.
Everything starts with a decision to aim higher than usual — only those with the right mindset, attitude, and skill can take advantage of the enormous human potential.

We’ve been conditioned to think small, simplify, and demand less from life.
Don’t be subject to the tyranny of “how things have always been done.”
Find your true north and push past the default.
Bet on yourself. Take more chances. Be more active, show up more often. That’s how you find breakthroughs.
In order to hit a target, you’ve got to have a target.
Set a time-bound goal and you will subconsciously find solutions to make it happen.
Reserve more time for your goals. Decide which days and times you can commit to moving ahead on your goal.
Pursue goals you can sustain!
Consistent action is better than a single massive step. Consistent action is a reliable, dependable and coherent approach to achieving goals.
Focus on a process — a system of minimal actions — based on a bigger goal.
Embrace the progressive attitude when you pursue meaningful goals.
“In many areas of life, there is a magical zone of long-term growth: Pushing enough to make progress, but not so much that it is unsustainable,” says James Clear.
It is better to make small progress every day than to do as much as humanly possible in one day and make no long-term progress.
“Change is not a one-time explosion of opportunity. It is a slow burning fire that needs to be tended constantly,” says Jason Harvey, in his book, Achieve Anything In Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals.
Many people quit in life because they have an unrealistic expectation of how quickly they want to reach their goal. Be prepared for obstacles.
Remember, the obstacle is the way.
Start building systems and routines that can help you get closer to everything that means a lot to you.
It’s difficult to get what we want in life. But don’t quit because it’s hard. Quit because it won’t make you a better person.
If you need to adjust, then adjust, but don’t quit for comfort.
A better life can begin in a moment if you want it bad enough.
Not a moment next month, or next week or later today.
This very moment, right now, if you are willing to make the right changes and focus on what really matters to your long-term growth.
