The Sage

I walked the halls of darkness, of sorrow, hardship, and pain,

I hungered for a time and was soaked by drenching rain.

I gathered light and energy as I rose up every time,

I fought with self but mastered, the soul’s great redesign.

With every challenge there were seeds of wisdom planted deep,

With every woe I learned to rise, to dance, to sow, to reap.

The blessings in the hardship at times I could not see,
