Thousands of year back into the ancient world, people would leave the havoc of their own village, finding solace in the forest so they could reflect on their own inner experiences. What they would look within themselves is myriads of thoughts and emotions. Of course, those thoughts and emotions seemed to cause anxiety, but they did find methods how they could change their state of mind.

Fast forward into the early 2000’s, scientists would look at the human brain and bring some conclusions about the brain plasticity. They would conclude that through meditative exercises, the brain can be rewired and literally changed.

Since ancient times, people have concluded that if they do not feed these nasty thoughts and emotions, if they would not give them the importance and just let them be, they would eventually get quiter and quiter… Mystics in India would literally change their state of mind, and would call this practice Vipassana, which means Clear seeing. It is only today that we have started calling it Meditation!

Further on, ancient yogi of India have claimed also that body posture has a profound effect on the person’s state of mind. This is so because the yogi saw the body and the mind, not as separate entities, but as a single continuum influencing each other. If the body was kept energetic, that would mean that also the mind is fresh and agile.

Again, fast forward in time, after years of ignorance, after thousands of hours sitting on gadgets, smart phones and computers, science has backed up that all that gadgetry has kicked out many people’s bodies out of balance. Watching your own posture is actually important, but without further ado, watch Part 1 of The Sceince of Yoga
