Case Study: Green Howards Museum Rebrand By Thrive Marketing Limited

It probably doesn’t need explaining, but the Green Howards Museum has an outstanding reputation, with its history and core values at the helm of everything they do today and in the future, so this was a fantastic project for us.

The long-standing military museum approached us as they came towards the end of a £1.7m regeneration programme for their premises, which has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Anybody from the North East or interested in the military knows the precedence that the Green Howards has, so when we entered the pitching process, we had every intention of doing everything we could to win.

Johnny Woods, Creative Director at Thrive, says of the brand:

“The Green Howards is such a prestigious name, with unbelievable heritage.

“We put everything into the pitch and branding, as we knew what importance the museum holds in its local area and for those associated with it.”

Our Graphic Designer, Tom, was superb throughout the branding process, using the museum’s four core brand values at the heart of his designs.

Thrive focused on the roman numerals, XIX — meaning 19, as The Green Howards was the 19thRegiment of Foot — to ensure that we not only recognise the brand’s steps towards the future but it’s crucial place in regimental history.

Pitching against four other agencies, we were proud to win the pitch and Tom, Johnny and all the team are extra proud of what we have achieved.

Most importantly, Fiona Hall, Communications Co-Ordinator at The Green Howards Museum, was also delighted with our designs:

“Johnny and the team impressed us with how quickly they understood what we were trying to achieve and their willingness to be flexible and creative to get the job done.

“Their pitch for the branding project was exceptional in its understanding of our needs as a military history museum which is keen to be forward-looking, fresh and welcoming to future generations of visitors.”

Today, Thrive are already involved in additional projects for The Green Howards Museum, as a result of the successful launch of their new brand across printed literature, promo materials and external signage.
