Of course, you can’t stop people coming to your event if you don’t think they’re good enough, but you can target your promotional messaging to ensure that the right kind of people find out about your event.

Buyer personas already better target content marketing for blogs, promotional content and your overall marketing strategy, however, they can be used to take it a step further.

How can I ensure that I get the best possible people to come to my event?

There are a number of steps…

3 Steps to Ensure Your Event Audience Are Ideal Potential Customers

1. Set Goals!

Before you start to outline your event personas, consider:

  • Who are the right people to invite?
  • Who are the right people to speak at?
  • What is the most valuable content we can create for these people?

Make a decision about what kind of event it is going to be. Are you using this as an opportunity to show customer appreciation, generate leads, create further brand awareness?

If you know what your overall goal is then it can help you define the types of people you want in the audience.

2. Research and get creating those personas!

Personas can seem really challenging to first put together, but it is easy once you ensure the right questions are being used and the information is presented in a way that means your whole event marketing team can understand. Your events team will know who they’re speaking to, what challenges might arise and how to reach the “dream” audience members.

3. Don’t leave it there!

Redefine your company buyer personas by asking custom questions during the registration process or by handing out feedback sheets at the end of the event.

If you have the option of a prize draw, you will find people will be more laid back about providing further information about themselves and/or their company.
