AS BELOW, SO ABOVE, AS ABOVE, SO BELOW…
Body of Earth
Earth Embraces Me — prose/poem
Taken by the sea
From the throes of insomnia, I wake
To a sound of ocean waves, surf.
A sound machine in a corner makes.
In a symphony of sound of fish talking
In the bosom of a coral reef’s — protected
As a mother makes a home, schools of fish
Swirl above while tiny creatures blend unto
The reef as I drift edging dreamtime. The energies
Of the waves and sounds, the busiest of streets.
Sing fishes and one tortoise weave water and stream
Into waves only my navel understands:
I connect as she connects with me blending together.
After nearly fifty years of grounding; sending roots down,
Earth has found me and soothed my weary emotions.
Sleepless I feel her heart connect to my body, through my feet,
Hands and chi. I am part of her and she me — Mother Earth.
On land I stand barefooted on dirt of dusty Earth, brown and
At times moist from rain. Earth…
