It’s Missy. And I’m back at it again with more AMAZING content wrought from the fusion of holograms and VR. Part 1 highlighted Finist Painter, the creative application that allows users on a Looking Glass and users with an Oculus to paint and create together in the same world.

For Part 2, I wanted to highlight both an application AND a platform that brings VR enthusiasts together with Looking Glass users.

Nakaji Kohki (Kohki NAKAJI) tweeted his app that displays his VR form as a cute little computer avatar in the Looking Glass. It’s like voyeurism to the most holographic degree possible- not only can you see what your VR buddy is experiencing, but you can also see how they’re reacting to the 3D world!

I mean heck, being a game designer, I can already think of 10 games I would make using this setup.

For those of you that haven’t heard about STYLY, it’s a really cool VR creation platform that allows users to create and share VR experiences either using a unity plugin or directly within the application. Anyone without coding experience can set up scenes and share them in STYLY’s ecosystem without a hiccup. Not only can you experience it in VR but also, if you don’t have a headset, you can run a web version of the STYLY VR apps on your computer!

And even better, STYLY released a beta version that’s compatible with the Looking Glass. Meaning, when you open up a scene in STYLY and you have a Looking Glass connected to your computer, it’ll automatically show up as a hologram.

Oh and did I mention that STYLY is free? It’s free. it is free. i T ‘ s F r E e.

VR CREATORS AND LOOKING GLASS USERS UNITE!!

STYLY recently hosted a VR photogrammetry competition and looped Looking Glass Factory in to judge and select a winner to receive a Looking Glass as the prize for their work. After a difficult time choosing our winner (there were so many beautiful pieces), we chose Deeper Blue Memory — a VR experience of a room submerged underwater that you can check out here.

*this is part of our “100 Days of Holograms” series, where we from Looking Glass Factory post one new wonderful or weird (or both!) use for the Looking Glass holographic display each day.
