What is Cardano?
Cardano is a proof-of-stake blockchain. The inception date for the coin dated back to 2015. Their main focus is to develop the blockchain with heavy reliance on academic and peer-reviewed research. Special emphasis is placed on achieving a sufficient level of decentralization through token economic and staking incentive designed. The development is fully open source.
The design of Cardano consists of two layers. The settlement layer handle financial transactions, while the computation layer handles smart contract operations. Unlike Ethereum (ETH) which consists of only one layer, the two-layer design allows both functions to be optimized separately. The separation could allow for faster transactions with better security when compared to Ethereum.
As of currently, Cardano has moved from the Byron development era into the Shelley development era. While the Byron era aimed at laying down the foundation for future development, the Shelley era aims to decentralize Cardano operation.
Cardano ranks №8 on coinmarketcap.com. It is listed as ADA on various major exchanges such as Binance, Kraken, HitBTC, and Huobi.
What is staking?
Proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains need to validate transactions by allowing validators to stake their own coins to vouch for each transaction. An honest validator receives some rewards for helping secure and helping verify transactions. A dishonest validator loses some of their staked coins. In general, a validator staking coins through officially-supported channels should never produce invalid transactions.
In short, staking helps secure a PoS blockchain. Those who stake receive compensation for doing so.
What is the role of THStakePool?
There are two types of staking. One can stake as a stake pool (validator) or as a delegator.
A stake pool / Validator (THStakePool)
A validator runs a full node of a PoS blockchain in order to fully participate in the process. Becoming a validator requires some technical skills such as
- Knowledge of how to run a blockchain node on a 24/7 basis
- System operation
- Experience in development and operations
- Server administration skills
- Server security skills
- Financial risk/reward evaluation and financial risk management
Needless to say, becoming a validator is not an easy task. Therefore, a stake pool, such as THStakePool, typically consists of a group of people who work together.
Delegator
However, a general coin holder might not have enough skills/time to run a full validator. Coin holders can become delegators and participate in the staking process by delegating their own coins to various stake pools/validators, such as THStakePool. The delegated coins earn reward normally, with a small amount of fee deducted by stake pools to cover their operation costs.

How much can I earn?
The annual return ranges anywhere from 3% to 5%. Please consult the official Cardano’s calculator for more details. Note that the rewards are paid in ADA. Delegators are exposed to coin depreciation risk. On the flip side, a delegator stands to gain more if the coin appreciates in value.

Cardano ถูกดีไซน์ให้มีการทำงานสองชั้น โดยชั้นที่หนึ่งใช้สำหรับรองรับการชำระเงินต่าง ๆ ผ่านเหรียญ ADA และเรียกว่า settlement layer ชั้นทีสองคือชั้นที่รองรับ smart contract เพื่อช่วยให้ developer สามารถทำการพัฒนา Dapp ต่าง ๆ ได้โดยไม่ต้องกังวลเรื่องการชำระเงินต่าง ๆ มากนัก โดยการแยกออกเป็นสองชั้น จะช่วยให้การพัฒนาทั้งทางด้านการชำระเงินหรือการเขียน smart contract สามารถกระทำแยกกันได้เพื่อเพิ่มความรวดเร็วในการทำงาน
การทำงานแบบสองชั้นนี้ ถือว่าเป็นจุดเด่นที่ทำให้ Cardano แตกต่างออกไปจาก smart contract blockchain อื่น ๆ เช่น Ethereum (ETH) ซึ่งมีการทำงานเพียงชั้นเดียว ระบบสองชั้นของ ADA จะช่วยส่งผลให้ธุรกรรมต่าง ๆ มีความรวดเร็วและปลอดภัยมากขึ้น
Cardano พึ่งปล่อยตัว mainnet ออกมาใหม่ โดยเปลี่ยนจากยุค Byron เป็นยุค Shelley โดยแต่ละยุคของ Cardano ได้มีจุดเน้นการพัฒนาที่ต่าง ๆ กันไป โดยในยุค Shelley ปัจจุบันนั้น เน้นทำให้เกิดการกระจายตัวของการทำงานบน ADA มากขึ้น
Cardano ในตอนนี้อยู่ในอันดับที่ 8 บน coinmarketcap.com และถูกลิสต์บน exchange ดัง ๆ เจ้าต่าง ๆ เช่น Binance Kraken HitBTC Huobi หรือ exchange ไทย เช่น Bitkub และ Satang โดยลิสต์ด้วย ticker ADA
การ Staking คืออะไร
บล๊อกเชนที่ใช้ PoS จำเป็นต้องมีการตรวจสอบธุรกรรมต่าง ๆ โดยให้ validator ของเชนนั้น ๆ stake เหรียญของตัวเองเพื่อเป็นหลักค้ำประกันการทำงานของตน โดย validator มีหน้าที่ตรวจสอบธุรกรรมต่าง ๆ บนเชนดังกล่าว โดย validator ที่ทำงานได้ดีก็จะได้รับผลตอบแทนทางการเงินกลับคืน และ validator ที่ทำงานผิดพลาดจะเสียค่าปรับส่วนหนึ่งจากเงินค้ำประกันที่วางไว้ตอนแรก โดยปกติแล้ว validator จะไม่ถูกปรับเลย หากใช้ซอร์ฟแวต์ที่รองรับโดยเหรียญต่าง ๆ และรันเซอเวอร์ได้ถูกต้อง
สรุปแล้ว การ staking ช่วยให้บล๊อกเชนที่ใช้ระบบ PoS มีความปลอดภัยและถูกต้อง โดยคนที่ทำการ stake จะได้รับค่าตอบแทนที่ช่วยเหลือการทำงานของเชนนั้น ๆ

บทบาทของ THStakePool คืออะไร
การ staking สามารถทำได้ในสองบทบาท คือ การเป็น stake pool (หรืออีกชื่อคือ validator) และ การเป็น delegator
A stake pool / Validator (THStakePool)
การเป็น validator จำเป็นที่จะต้องรันโหนดของบล๊อกเชนนั้น ๆ เพื่อเข้าร่วมกับการทำธุรกรรมทุกตัว การจะเป็น validator หรือ stake pool ได้นั้น ต้องใช้ทักษะต่าง ๆ มากทีเดียว เช่น
- ความรู้ในการรันโหนดของบล๊อกเชนต่าง ๆ ตลอดเวลา
- ความรู้ในการทำงานของระบบ
- ทักษะในการเขียนโปรแกรมและดำเนินการต่าง ๆ
- การเป็นผู้ดูแลระบบเซอเวอร์
- การดูแลรักษาความปลอดภัยของระบบเซอเวอร์
- การวิเคราะห์ความเสี่ยงและผลตอบแทนทางด้านการเงิน และการบริหารความเสี่ยงทางการเงิน
การเป็น validator นั้น ไม่ใช่เรื่องง่าย ๆ เลย ดังนั้นจึงเกิดการบริการเช่น THStakePool ขึ้นเพื่อช่วยให้การ stake เหรียญต่าง ๆ ง่ายขึ้น
Delegator
เนื่องจากการเป็น validator มันยากแสนยาก คนที่อยาก stake ทั่วไปจะทำในฐานะ Delegator มากกว่า โดย delegator จะเลือก stake เหรียญของตนกับ stake pool ต่าง ๆ เช่น THStakePool โดย Delegator ยังคงได้รับผลตอบแทนทุกอย่างตามปกติ นอกเสียจากค่าธรรมเนียมเล็กน้อยที่ถูกเรียกเก็บโดย stake pool เพื่อเป็นค่าบำรุงรักษาระบบ
