Usually people talk about the qualities one may have in order to be successful or the hurdles that come in the journey towards success, but in my view there are certain internal fears of the Startup Entrepreneurs that may affect his journey to success. These fears may not be apparent and in most cases they are not even known, but the fact is that these fears stop you from attaining success. Those who have attained success in their respective fields may definitely agree with me as all of them may have experienced one or more of these fears at some point in their career.

I have listed here the 5 common fears experienced by budding entrepreneurs before achieving their long desired success.

  1. Fear of Sharing the Idea

This is the fear of budding entrepreneurs or wantrepreneurs who are insecure about their idea being taken away before execution. They need a team, partner, funds and advice but their fear of sharing the idea stop them from reaching out to people for support. The result is quite obvious — FAILURE! If you want people to join you in your journey to success, you will have to share your vision and believe it’s not just an idea that fetches you success — It actually calls for lot more!!!

  1. Fear of Facing the Public

Yes, many wantrepreneurs drop their journey midway as they fear to stand in public or address a crowd. It sounds ridiculous but it is no joke! This is a common fear faced by many, but it should never stop you as this is not a big issue to handle. Success brings with it confidence to stand in public and addressing the crowd. Believe me!!! If not, then try it out!

  1. Fear of Losing What You Have!

Starting a startup is easy when you have just started your career, but once you are on the steady career path or promising job, the fear of losing comes into picture. This fear is quite natural, but I would suggest to take calculated risk. See that you are not having any major liabilities or monthly outgo like loans and credits, as this will force you to leave your endeavor midway because of financial crisis. You can always get back to your job if you don’t succeed, but what if you don’t even try?

The greatest failure is the failure to try — William Ward

  1. Fear of Failure

Some people fear one time failure and in the process, fail every day! They don’t do what they are good at just because they fear failure. Trying is never failing as it is an attempt to succeed, which is much better than failure. Don’t let fear of failure come your way to success as –

The only thing worse than starting something and failing…..is not starting something. — Seth Godin

  1. Fear of Not Heading Into The Right Direction

When you start walking on the way to success, the major fear usually experienced is to head in the wrong direction. Not being sure of your goals and lack of planning are the main factors behind this fear. Set these two things right and the fear of losing the direction will vanish automatically.

Though these are the common fears, they are not standard fears experienced as every individual is different and so are his fears! Know your fear and overcome it to achieve what you always wanted!
